1-to-1 Tutoring
1-to-1 Tutoring is a free, appointment-based tutoring program offered to all Georgia Tech undergraduate students.
1-to-1 tutoring sessions are designed to be student led, so it is important that you are prepared to articulate your thoughts as you actively engage in the problem-solving process. Our tutors do not lecture or re-teach material. Rather, they are trained to help you pinpoint areas of confusion and guide you through the process of getting “unstuck”.

How to schedule a tutoring appointment
Can’t find what you need?
If you have trouble finding availability that fits your schedule, please submit the Unmet Tutoring Need form. This will be sent to all TAS staff to facilitate a match.
In addition, you can submit a request with Knack tutors at gatech.joinknack.com.
If you need immediate help, our drop-in tutoring may be the right place! Check here for help in chemistry, physics, math, CS, AE, and BME courses.
Tutoring Policies & Procedures
- Tutoring is limited to students currently enrolled in the course. Exceptions can be made for students working to satisfy an Incomplete (I) grade.
- Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- Students can schedule up to two appointments per week for each course in which they are currently enrolled.
- While tutoring is free, failure to attend or cancel a scheduled session will result in a $15 missed tutoring fee charged to the student’s Bursar’s account.
- Sessions can be cancelled in TracCloud with no fee up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time. If a student needs to cancel within the 24–hour time period, they should contact their tutor as soon as possible. Tutors can request that missed tutoring or late cancellation fees be waived on behalf of their students, but the decision to waive a fee is up to their manager.
- Students who miss three appointments will be blocked from making additional tutoring appointments for the remainder of the semester.
- If a student is unable to find availability that works with their schedule, they are encouraged to fill out an Unmet Tutoring Need form.
- Complaints, problems, and issues concerning tutoring services, tutors, online scheduling, or any other matter pertaining to 1-to-1 tutoring should be sent to tutoring@gatech.edu. For immediate help with a tutoring appointment concern, call the Tutoring Center Desk, 404-894-1945.
Online Tutoring Disclaimer
Using virtual tutoring makes it difficult to ensure FERPA privacy. Tutors will conduct video tutoring in as private a location as possible, and recommend that students do the same to limit the amount of information which could be overheard by others in the vicinity. By agreeing to videoconference-tutoring, students are confirming they understand this situation.
