Syllabus blurbs to let your students know about our services

Please find sample text to include in your syllabi about 1-to-1 Tutoring, Drop-In Tutoring, PLUS, and our new Learning Assistant Program.

1-to-1 Tutoring

Tutoring and Academic Support: Free 1-to-1 tutoring is available for most 1000 and 2000 level courses. Students can book up to two appointments per week for each course in which they are currently enrolled. Tutoring appointments can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance, but no sooner than 24 hours before the appointment start time.

PLUS

Tutoring and Academic Support: free, group study called PLUS (Peer-Led Undergraduate Study) sessions are provided for this course. These are led by a prior student of this course and offered twice a week to practice problem-solving strategies and content mastery.

Drop-In Tutoring

Tutoring and Academic Support: asking questions is a key to success! Free, drop-in tutoring is available for Math, Introductory Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Introductory Physics, and CS1371. Drop-in tutoring is staffed by graduate students, teaching assistants, and peer tutors.

Learning Assistant Program

Tutoring and Academic Support: will provide our class with a Learning Assistant(s) this semester. The LA(s) are students who have previously taken this course and will help facilitate active learning & collaborative instruction during class time.

Even though our services are designed to be easily accessible, some students may be hesitant to seek help. Referring a student for support can help them take the first step to getting back on track.
